Field Agronomist Intern
Black Gold has a position open for a FIELD AGRONOMIST INTERN at its Rhodesdale, MD location. This position will assist with raising high quality, profitable potatoes through the duties described below.
1. Collect data and generate reports from information gathered through scouting and tissue collection
2. Familiarize themselves with the stages of potato plant growth, potato insects, diseases and weeds
3. Assist with crop yield and quality monitoring
4. Participate in seed cutting monitoring and seed placement during planting
5. Assist with irrigation management by monitoring field moisture, irrigation & rainfall amounts on a daily basis
Candidates should be pursuing an agricultural related degree. Experience working with potatoes is not required. Applicants must be able to receive a private pesticide applicator's license. This is a paid internship occurring at different times throughout the months of January through August. Interns will also have the opportunity to receive up to $800 in tuition reimbursement upon completion of the internship.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
